Getting Started with R

January 13, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Jim Dykes, Computing and Research Services, IBS

Workshop: Do you want to use R, but are unsure how to start? R can be very daunting at first. We will show you have to read in data, recode and restructure variables, add and manage missing values, and graph your data in order to perform basic statistical analyses. We assume little or no knowledge of R. The dataset for this class will be the Boulder weather data going back to the early late 1800s as supplied by NOAA. This data contains many opportunities to deal with recoding, missing values, plotting and analysis. Please see the Statistical Analysis with R class for more advanced statistical analyses.
