Panel Discussion on Non-Academic Careers

The IBS Graduate Training Program presents a non-academic career panel discussion. Speakers will share their experiences and advice from working in different non-academic career fields. There will also be time for Q&A so please bring your questions!

Grad students and postdocs from all departments and programs are welcome to attend. Light lunch will be served; no RSVP needed to attend.

Panelists are:

Dr. Myron Gutmann, current Professor of History and Director of IBS who from 2009 to 2013 served as Assistant Director of the U.S. National Science Foundation, leading NSF’s Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences Directorate

Dr. Erin Trapp, CEO and Executive Director of the Biennial of the Americas–a private non-profit organization that aims to connect North and South America and inspire critical thinking and action through provocative discussion forums, and arts and culture practice–and who holds a Ph.D in Sociology from CU Boulder

Dr. Keeley Stokes, research associate at Spark–a policy institute dedicated to partnering with communities, policymakers, advocates and the general public throughout the country to find solutions to complex policy problems–and who holds a Ph.D in Political Science from CU Boulder
