Florence M. Morse Human Relations Action Award

The Institute of Behavioral Science is pleased to announce the Florence M. Morse Human Relations Action Award. The Morse Action Award provides up to $5,000 of support to prevention science “action” programs targeting issues around problem behavior and positive youth development.

Eligibility: All University of Colorado Boulder faculty and research staff are eligible to apply, but preference will be given to teams that include current IBS Fellows and research staff. IBS is especially interested in projects that advance equity, diversity, and inclusion themes, so we particularly welcome proposals explicitly addressing these issues in substance, methods, and personnel. IBS is also interested in investing in action-oriented programs that have the potential for new, or additional, funding from an external sponsor within the next 2 years, to be administered through IBS.

Priority will be given to collaborative, interdisciplinary projects that have strong potential for impact both in research and in practice; efforts providing a foundation for a strong proposal for external funding; requests from junior investigators who have not yet obtained external support; projects that engage diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Deadline: March 28, 2025
  • Size of Awards: up to $5,000
  • Duration: Typically for a period of 1 year
  • Use of Funds: Any direct expenses in support of an “action” program, although not conference travel nor group meals. Please work with your pre-award specialist on the budget.
