Brief Biography

Abhishek Gautam is a seasoned expert in monitoring and evaluation with over 18 years of research experience, focusing on key areas such as Family Planning, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Men and Masculinity, Gender-Based Violence, and the impact of climate change on women’s health. With a Doctorate in Statistics and extensive experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, Abhishek has led and supported a wide range of high-impact projects, primarily in collaboration with international organizations like UNFPA, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and UN Women.

Currently serving as an Associate Director at the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW), Abhishek provides technical and managerial leadership on research initiatives aimed at promoting gender equality and enhancing health outcomes across Asia. His work emphasizes the importance of gender-sensitive approaches in data collection and analysis, and he has been pivotal in projects that expand contraceptive options, combat gender-based violence, and support adolescent health and empowerment.

Abhishek’s research is characterized by a commitment to equitable health policies and the practical application of statistical insights to drive social change. His interests lie in advancing gender-responsive health interventions, exploring the dynamics of intimate partner violence and son preference, and implementing sustainable family planning programs that empower frontline health workers and communities alike.
