Brief Biography

Brian C. Keegan is a social, data, network, and information scientist. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Information Science and holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Computer Science. His interdisciplinary research is primarily situated within computational social science and human-computer interaction. This research has been funded by the National Science Foundation to understand genealogical relationships among online communities and migration metaphors for the adoption of emerging social media platforms. He is also interested in the role of demographic models and data for public-interest data science as well as tracking how narratives about population and demography circulate among online extremist groups.
