Brief Biography
Candace Evans received her bachelor’s degree in sociology and psychology from McMurry University in 2016, and her master’s degree in applied sociology from the University of Massachusetts-Boston in 2018. She is currently a PhD student in the Department of Sociology at University of Colorado Boulder and a graduate research assistant at the Natural Hazards Center. Evans’ sociological interests are broadly centered around chronic illness and disability, and she is increasingly interested in the unique challenges these individuals face during disasters and disaster recovery.
