Brief Biography

Jolie Breeden is the lead editor and science communicator for Natural Hazards Center publications. She writes and edits for Research Counts, the Research Awards series, special projects and publications, and various website content. Her research activities include the U.S. Geological Survey Earthquake Early Warning and Schools Study. Breeden graduated summa cum laude from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Before joining the Natural Hazards Center in May 2008, she was as a reporter for various Front Range newspapers, including the Broomfield Enterprise, the Longmont Daily Times-Call, the Boulder Daily Camera and the Rocky Mountain News.
