Brief Biography

Katie Carlsen earned a bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Health, and Society at Vanderbilt University, which allowed her to study health and medicine through the lens of various disciplines, including chemistry, biology, sociology, politics, and much more. Katie then earned her master’s in public health (MPH) with a concentration in Health Education and Promotion through Des Moines University, along with her Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification. Prior to becoming an Implementation Coordinator, Katie worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a Health Educator, providing nutrition education to military families, dependents, and retirees. Before that, she was a Special Projects Coordinator at a non-profit housed within the University of Oklahoma, and she worked to expand the organization’s nutrition education resources to Western Oklahoma.
